Group Rallying Support Over Coal Ash Threat

A group hoping to keep coal ash out of the National Scenic Middle Fork River is attempting to get more people involved in its effort.  The Eco Justice Collaborative is hosting a meeting at 7 o’clock this evening (Thursday, January 18th, 2018) in the Danville City Council chambers so area residents can meet the organizers of a new group involved in the campaign.

Lan Richart, co-director of the Eco Justice Collaborative, outlined Dynegy’s plan for dealing with three coal ash pits which are located near the Middle Fork…

Richart says the EPA is expected to decide later this year whether to approve the capping plan….

Richart added the river is eroding the banks of the two oldest coal ash pits at a rate much faster than what was previously predicted by Dynegy consultants.
