Preliminary damage assessments are underway on this week’s flooding. The Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency has started the process and wants to hear from home and business owners who have suffered significant damage.
EMA Director Ted Fisher’s office says the information will be compiled and forwarded to the state for evaluation and assessment.
The only information that is being requested at this time is whether you suffered significant damage to your primary residence or your business.
Information is not being requested for any other buildings – such as barns or garages which may also have been flooded.
If you live in Vermilion County and suffered extensive flood damage to your residence or business you should contact the Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency at (217) 443-6010. Or you can send information by email to ema2@dvcema.org or by text messaging to 217-274-2174.
Information being requested includes such things as your name and contact information plus a brief description of your damage.
[Photos in this story were taken in the Grape Creek area southeast of Danville Thursday morning, February 22, 2018 by Bill Pickett. You can easily see why the road is closed. Also the one picture that looks like a lake is actually a farm field where corn is usually grown during the summer.]
