Things are back to normal in the area of a memorial jet which is parked near the West Main and Logan Avenue intersection in Danville.
The University of Illinois Bomb Squad was called to that location late this (Thursday, May 31st) morning after an abandoned cooler was found near the jet.

Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says it turned out the cooler contained some drinks, but no explosives. He says the bomb squad was called as a precautionary measure because of the suspicious nature of the cooler.
Police did not evacuate anyone in the area, and in fact normal traffic was allowed to continue past the intersection. They did rope off the immediate area around the jet with crime scene tape, but it was removed after it was confirmed there was nothing dangerous inside the cooler.
