The Turtle Run Golf Club in Danville hosts its first AMBUCS Friday Night Concert tonight (Friday, June 1st). The AMBUCS announced earlier that they had decided to move their summer concert series to Turtle Run. They had previously been held at Temple Plaza in downtown Danville.
The AMBUCS concerts are free, and the ‘’Feudin’ Hillbillys’’ are scheduled to be the first band of the series this evening with music from 6 until 9 p.m.
‘’We are excited about the new location, which features a large covered patio, a big grassy area for lawn chairs and blankets, great food cooked on-site, adjacent well-lit parking, and real bathrooms,’’ said AMBUCS Concerts co-chairman Dean Carlton when the new location was announced.
‘’We are excited to host AMBUCS Friday Nights at Turtle Run,’’ said Mindy Dawson, owner of Turtle Run. She said it is a great opportunity to utilize the outdoor entertainment venue at Turtle Run while helping to support all of the amazing things the AMBUCS do for the community.
AMBUCS volunteers will help sell beverages, assist with parking and help with food sales. Proceeds from the concerts will be used by the AMBUCS for local projects to help persons with disabilities.
In addition to tonight’s concert, AMBUCS Friday Night Concerts are scheduled at Turtle Run on June 15th and 29th…and on July 20th, August 3rd and August 17th.
