Corn Bouncing Back Following Sunday Storms

Corn Bouncing Back Following Sunday Storms

The young corn crops in Vermilion County are bouncing back from Sunday’s severe thunderstorms.  Kelli Lyons, an agent with Midwest Agri Credit Company, told Tom Fricke of the Vermilion County Farm Bureau that her office has been getting some damage reports….

Lyons said a number of farmers have filled out claim forms…

And although some people might think the crop insurance is a government hand-out for farmers, Lyons notes farmers pay for it….

Lyons says up until the storms the crops had been progressing nicely across the county.   Fricke says Sunday’s rain ranged from 3 to 5 inches across Vermilion County.
