This year’s Vermilion County Fair and Expo is getting ready to open at the county fairgrounds west of Danville. The fair opens Wednesday (June 20th) and runs through Sunday (June 25th).
Once again this year the carnival rides will be free during certain times with a $6 paid admission. On Tuesday the 4-H General Project judging takes place, and Open and Junior show entries are accepted in several categories – such as Agriculture, Fine Arts and Hobbies.
The Queen’s competition is on Wednesday. Some other activities at the fair include Dirt Track races at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, a Truck & Tractor Pull at 6:00 p.m. Friday, Stadium Motocross at 7 o’clock Saturday evening (June 24th), and on Sunday, (June 24th) the fair will be capped with a Demolition Derby that is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
