Danville Police Investigating Robbery & Shooting

Danville Police are investigating two separate incidents involving an armed robbery and a shooting.  Police Commander Joshua Webb says officers responded to the 900 block of Redden Court around 2:10 a.m. (July 9, 2018) on a report of a shooting.  They found a 35-year-old Chicago man had been shot in the torso.

A witness told police the victim was in the area of the 900 block of Redden Court when someone started shooting in his direction.  The victim is undergoing treatment at an area hospital.

It was less than 20 minutes after the shooting that Danville Police responded to an armed robbery at the Circle K Gas Station in the 2600 block of North Vermilion Street (at 2:28 a.m.).  An employee told police the station was robbed by two black males.  One of the robbers was wearing tan pants and a white hat.  The second suspect wore a dark hoodie over his head.  There were no injuries reported during the robbery.

The suspects were last seen running east after getting an undisclosed amount of money from the business.
