The City of Danville is preparing to take the initial step toward the eventual construction of two new railroad overpasses along Bowman Avenue. Community Development Director David Schnelle says the City is exploring engineering services….
There are no funds available to build the structures, Schnelle says proceeding with the engineering work will ensure the city is ready in the event construction funds are available later.
The City has been looking for ways to improve traffic flow along Bowman Avenue, which is a key north-south route through Danville.
Schnelle also says work is expected to begin in a couple of weeks on replacing a bridge along Voorhees Street, over Stoney Creek west of Bowman Avenue. He says city crews have been getting a detour route ready…
Once work begins on the bridge replacement Voorhees Street will be closed in that area until the new bridge is done.
