A former Democratic candidate for State Representative from the 104th District is tossing his support behind Republican Mike Marron.
Frank McCullough Jr. says he remains a ‘’proud Democrat’’ adding, ‘’but I recognize the ability of this young man and the promise of what he can accomplish. It’s bigger than D or R,’’ added McCullough.
‘’I had met Mike before I ran,’’ said Reverend McCullough (shown here), ‘’but I got to know him better at events we both attended during my Democratic primary campaign. I saw and heard firsthand what he’s been able to accomplish for the county,’’ added McCullough as he encouraged others to also support Marron.
‘’Getting the support of Reverend McCullough means a great deal to me,’’ said Marron. ‘’He is a good man that has worked hard at solving problems in communities throughout Vermilion and Champaign Counties as one of the Three Kings (of Peace).’’ And Marron said McCullough is in tune with the challenges we face in the 104th District.
Reverend McCullough has been the pastor of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Danville for over 20 years. He is one of the ‘’Three Kings of Peace’’, a well-known community activist group dedicated to promoting education and reducing violence among youth.
Marron is facing Democrat Cynthia Cunningham of St. Joseph in the November election.
