Danville Police have recovered most of the items stolen in a Tuesday (July 24, 2018) burglary at a Habitat for Humanity building. Police were able to develop information on some suspects and two of them were later arrested during a traffic stop according to Public Safety Director Larry Thomason.
The Director says a large amount of tools were found in the vehicle believed to be from the Habitat for Humanity store. Three Danville residents were taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of stolen property and criminal trespass. They are identified as 36-year-old Damyen McGrown, 31-year-old Zachary Holt, and 29-year-old Natosha Perhay.
Habitat’s Executive Director in Danville, Jonathan Gibson, described the recovery of the tools as ‘’wonderful news’’. He added work on remodeling their new building at 422 North Vermilion Street will be resuming today. He added, fortunately, Habitat had marked the tools so police were able to easily determine who owned them.
