Danville Police say they are investigating several incidents which were reported over the weekend. Police Commander Joshua Webb says they include the following:
Armed Robbery to Person:
On 08/03/18 around 11:00pm Danville Police responded for a call of an armed robbery to a person that had occurred in the area of Gilbert St and Harrison St. Upon arrival officers spoke with a 25 year old Danville woman who stated she had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim stated she was walking in the area of Gilbert St and Harrison St when she was approached by a M/B subject who pointed a handgun at her and demanded her belongings. The victim stated the suspect took her phone and other items and then she was able to leave the area and call police. The suspect was described as a male black with afro style hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and white shorts. No injuries were reported during this incident.
Aggravated Battery with a Firearm:
On 08/04/18 around 1:06 am Danville Police responded to the 1200 block of Grant St for report of a man who had been shot. Upon arrival officers located a 24 year old Danville man who had been shot in his arm and leg. The victim stated he was walking in the area of English St. and Harmon St. when he heard multiple shots being fired from an unknown location. The victim stated he ran from the area and then realized he had been shot and he went to the 1200 block of Grant St. to call for help. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.
Burglary to Business:
On 08/05/18 around 6:52 am Danville Police responded to the Danville Humane Society in the 1200 block of Collett St. for a burglary report. Upon arrival officers spoke with an employee who stated someone had forced entry into the business and stolen several undisclosed items.
