Champaign County Sheriff’s Police have made an arrest in the murder of a young Mahomet woman almost nine years ago. Sheriff Dan Walsh says 30-year-old Michael Henslick of Mahomet is charged with the November 2, 2009 murder of Holly Cassano. He is being held on a $10-million dollar bond.
The 22-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in her home. Sheriff’s Police have been working on the case ever since and on Tuesday arrested Henslick in the parking lot of Market Place Mall in Champaign.
Sheriff Walsh and Champaign County State’s Attorney Julia Rietz have scheduled a news conference in the case for today (August 29, 2018).
