State Representative Chad Hays has been named a ‘Champion of Free Enterprise’ by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce for his 2017-2018 voting record in support of Illinois businesses.
Hays will be leaving the General Assembly on Friday when Mike Marron – the current chairman of the Vermilion County Board – takes the oath to replace him. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday (September 7th) at the Rita B. Garman Vermilion County Courthouse.
Hays says it is with mixed emotions that he will leave his legislative position after serving in Springfield eight and a half years…
Hays added there are some things about his service as a State Representative that he will never forget. One of those is when he arrived in Gifford 45 minutes after it was hit by a devastating tornado in November of 2013, and saw the work being done by emergency responders…
And Hays is excited about his new position. He has been named the new Executive Director of Crosspoint Human Services….
As for his new award from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Hays says he can think of no greater honor than to be recognized for votes on behalf of those who create jobs and drive our state’s economy.
