Fithian area farmer Mike Marron is now officially the new State Representative for Illinois’ 104th District. Marron was sworn-in this afternoon (Friday, September 07, 2018) to replace Chad Hays in a ceremony at the Rita B. Garman Vermilion County Courthouse. Several lawmakers and former lawmakers were on hand for the occasion, along with some judges from the Illinois Appellate and local court. Among them was State Representative Jim Durkin, the Illinois House Republican Leader.
News Director Bill Pickett talked with Marron shortly after he took his oath….
Marron was asked what it was that got him interested in becoming a state legislator….
But Representative Marron adds now there is work to do….
Marron left the position of chairman of the Vermilion County Board to assume his new role. He has held that position the past four years. The County Board is expected to act on his replacement when it meets Tuesday evening.
Hays decided to leave the General Assembly in order to become the new Executive Director of Crosspoint Human Services.
