Danville Police Investigators are continuing to seek information that might help solve the weekend shooting of a teenager. Marcus Perry, a 14-year-old Danville High School student, is recovering following surgery Sunday at a Champaign-Urbana hospital according to police.
Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says the teen told police he was walking along Griffin Street when someone approached from behind and shot him. The shooting occurred at midnight Saturday.
Thomason says the teen told police he saw two people running in a northeasterly direction immediately after the shooting. Police searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects.
Danville Police are still asking that anyone who has information that might help in the investigation to call them. Or you can submit information anonymously by calling Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at (217) 446-TIPS.
