It is now official that Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer will become the new village administrator in Rantoul next month. Members of the Rantoul Village Board voted 5 to 0 Tuesday evening to approve a new contract with Eisenhauer. One board member missed the meeting.
‘’While it is sad to see my time as Mayor of Danville near an end, I am extremely excited and anxious to get started in this new opportunity,’’ said Eisenhauer after the vote in a statement to VermilionCountyFirst.com News. ‘’I appreciate the confidence the Mayor and Trustees of Rantoul have entrusted in me, and look forward to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.’’
Four aldermen have publically expressed an interest in serving out the remaining 5 months of Mayor Eisenhauer’s current term when he leaves the position on November 5th. Those who have expressed an interest are aldermen Rickey Williams Junior, Michael Puhr, Steve Foster and Steve Nichols. But others may emerge before the council meets next Tuesday to select an interim mayor.
