Election Day is less than 4 weeks away and local election offices are continuing to get ready. A series of classes are being held to prepare election judges for the big day on November 6th.
Both the Vermilion County Clerk’s Office and the Danville Board of Election Commission provide training sessions for the judges who need to know more than you might think. The sessions go over the latest in election laws.
The election judges put in a long day – working from before the polls open at 6:00 a.m. until after they close at 7:00 p.m. Some of the election judges have been performing their duties for decades, while others are new. Both offices are usually in need of additional judges each time an election rolls around.
