Students in a Danville High School Future Problem Solvers class were honored Tuesday for their efforts to keep teens safe. This is National Teen Road Safety Week and the students have been involved in a campaign to save the lives of teens that drive.
‘’Roadway accidents claim more teen lives than any other cause; but that doesn’t have to be the case,’’ State Representative Mike Marron told the class. He presented the group and their sponsor a special Certificate of Recognition from the Illinois House of Representatives.
The Danville High School Future Problem Solvers Project Ignition won both state and national acclaim last year. This year the students have continued their efforts by working with local businesses to post road safety messages throughout the community; especially in areas where more accidents traditionally occur. The students have also spread their message via messages on social media and radio.
