Danville Police say a Sunday morning shooting incident has left one person dead and another hospitalized. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says police were dispatched to the 1500 block of East English Street around 3:15 Sunday morning on a report of shots fired and two people injured.
‘’Officers arriving found the two victims inside a home – both victims of apparent gunshot wounds,’’ said Thomason. ‘’The two were transported by Pro Ambulance to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville where one individual, a 34-year-old male, was pronounced deceased. The other individual, a 19-year-old male, was transferred to a Champaign area hospital.’’
Director Thomason says police were told there had been a party at the residence and at some point an argument broke out. The argument moved from inside the house to outside where eventually shots were fired.
The names of those who were shot have not been released yet.
Danville Police are continuing their investigation into the incident along with the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police. A State Police Crime Scene unit was on the scene in Danville Sunday morning.
