Formal Charges in Fatal Danville Shooting

Formal charges have been filed against a young Danville man in a fatal weekend shooting.  The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged 18-year-old Christopher Sean Stanley with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old Austin Camareno.

Stanley has also been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, reckless conduct and having no firearm owner’s identification card.

Vermilion County Sheriff’s Investigators say they were told that the two teens are friends and had reportedly been handling a gun when it discharged.  The shooting occurred shortly before 2 o’clock Saturday morning (December 8th, 2018) at a home in the 800 block of Warrington Avenue, just west of Danville.

Stanley remains free from custody after 10-percent of a $250,000 bond was posted on his behalf.  His next court appearance is scheduled for December 26th.
