On 12/20/18 around 9:14 pm Danville Police responded to a complaint of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the area of the 500 block of Leseure St. Upon arrival the officers met with the victims who stated they had gone to the 500 block of Leseure St to sell two cellphones to an individual who was interested in buying them. The victims stated the sale was set up through Facebook and they had no idea who they were actually meeting before they arrived at the location. Once they arrived in the area of the 500 block of Leseure St the victims were approached by two male black subjects and one of them displayed a handgun. The victims were then robbed of the cellphones before the suspects fled the area on foot. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
On 12/21/18 around 12:09 am Danville Police responded to a complaint of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred at the Mach 21 Liquor Store in the 500 block of Gilbert St. Upon arrival the officers spoke with an employee who stated he was walking to his car when a subject attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The victim stated he was in the parking lot walking to his vehicle when a male black subject approached him and displayed a handgun. The suspect attempted to rob the victim of his belongings, but the victim turned around and took off running without giving anything to the suspect. The suspect was last seen wearing a black coat with the hood up over his head and black and grey pants. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
On 12/21/18 around 3:13 am Danville Police responded to the Casey’s Gas Station in the 2100 block of E. Main St for an armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival the officers spoke with several employees who stated they had been robbed at gunpoint by three male black subjects. The employees stated the suspects entered the business and two of them displayed handguns while demanding money from the register. The employees stated the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register as well as cigarettes and cigars from behind the counter. The suspects then fled the scene on foot and were last seen running westbound from the business. Suspect #1 was described as approximately 6’3’ wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood over his head and a black mask. He was armed with a silver and black handgun. Suspect #2 was described as approximately 5’10 with a black jacket and dark pants and armed with a black handgun. Suspect #3 was described as wearing a dark colored jacket with a hood over his head and blacks pants. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
At this time there is nothing to indicate any of these incidents are related.
The investigation into these incident’s continues and no other information is being released at this time.
