Crime Takes No Break Over Christmas Holiday

Crime took no holiday over the extended Christmas holiday weekend in Vermilion County.  Local and area police officers were busy handling numerous calls ranging from domestic disturbances to reports of shots being fired.

A recent string of robberies continued as Danville Police responded to a report of a robbery at 515 North Vermilion Street shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.  And a 28-year-old woman reported she was the victim of an armed robbery in the 200 block of Dawn Avenue around 5:30 Saturday evening.

Danville Police arrested a 27-year-old suspect on Christmas Eve in connection with a residential burglary in the 1100 block of Koehn Drive.  And in Westville, police arrested a 38-year-old man in the 200 block of Ellsworth Street Monday morning on charges of burglarizing an auto.  Names of those arrested are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.

Danville Police also arrested a 43-year-old city man early Monday on charges of fleeing and eluding police and aggravated driving after his license was revoked.  Police arrested Arian Clark after a chase in the Voorhees and Griffin Street area.
