‘New Year’s Challenge’ Attracts Over 350 Wrestlers

If you enjoy watching some good wrestling, the place to be is the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville (Friday and Saturday – Dec. 28 & 29th)  The High School of Saint Thomas More in Champaign is hosting its ‘New Year’s Challenge’ Wrestling Tournament.

It is a high school wrestling competition that tournament director Cord Schroeder says attracts wrestlers from a wide area….

Schroeder says there are upwards of 400 wrestlers participating.  He was asked what he hopes those young wrestlers get out of participating in the ‘New Year’s Challenge’…..

Schroeder formerly served as the head wrestling coach at St. Thomas More for 15 years.  The matches continue through Saturday.  And along with providing some good experience for the wrestlers, the event is also boosting business at Danville area restaurants and other businesses.
