Some Local Lawmakers Setting Their Priorities

State Senator Scott Bennett and Representative Mike Marron are eager to get the spring legislative session underway.  Both men have some priorities in mind, but Marron realizes getting anything done will require cooperation from Democrats since they control both chambers and the Governor’s office.

Representative Marron says he got some ideas for new bills while meeting recently with mayors and others in towns around his district….

Senator (Scott) Bennett has three priorities in mind.  He says a top concern is protecting the National Scenic Middle Fork River from a coal ash threat….

Senator Bennett is also hopeful about a new effort to expand gaming…

Senator Bennett also wants legislators to look into new ways to deal with disabilities and behavioral issues.  Meanwhile Representative Marron notes new Governor J.B. Pritzker appears to be seeking more cooperation among lawmakers….

Both Senator Bennett and Representative Marron say they hope to see more cooperation among lawmakers under new Governor J. B.
