Interim Principal Named for Edison School

Interim Principal Named for Edison School

A new interim principal is in charge of Danville’s Edison Elementary School.  It was announced at last night’s District 118 School Board meeting that Betsy Porter has been selected for the role.  She had been an assistant principal at Danville High School.

John Rossi has been appointed interim assistant principal at DHS after serving as a dean there.

Porter is replacing Mark Goodwin, who has been the principal at Edison since 2011.

Last week, during a meeting with reporters, District 118 Superintendent Alicia Geddis said an administrator had been placed on administrative leave.  Although she would not identify that person, Geddis said it was for other than medical reasons.  She said the person was placed on administrative leave ‘’pending a hearing.’’
