The woman whose body was pulled from the Wabash River in Clinton, Indiana Saturday (February 16, 2019) has been identified as a resident of that community. Vermillion County, Indiana Coroner Roger Lewis says the victim is 56-year-old Jeanne L. Stern of Clinton. The Coroner says the cause and manner of Stern’s death are pending toxicology results and a review of the final autopsy report.
Clinton Police Chief Billy MacLaren called on Indiana State Police for assistance after the body was discovered. It was found in the Wabash River near Riverside Cemetery, which is in Clinton’s city limits.
At this time, State Police say the initial investigation is indicating there are no signs of foul play. The investigation is continuing, however.
