Firefighters from more than a dozen departments were busy Wednesday night (February 27, 2019) battling a fire at a former Wendy’s Restaurant near Covington, Indiana. The location of the fire is near the Interstate 74 and Indiana route 63 interchange.
The building has been vacant for some time. Firefighters were shuttling water from Covington, Danville and several other locations as they worked to extinguish the flames.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries. Firefighters from Danville were among those on the scene. Danville sent a truck company to provide aerial support in battling the flames from above the fire. Other fire departments on the scene were from a wide area of western Indiana and East Central Illinois.
