The Danville Public Library Foundation will be honoring its volunteers and donors in a private event set for April 30th. The Foundation is an independent fund-raising arm for the library that helps the library meet the needs of the community.
The Foundation will recognize all volunteers and donors, with special recognition to Julius W. Hegeler II and McLaughlin Asset Management, Inc. for their 2018 sponsorship of A Night of Enchantment. The upcoming 2019 fall event will mark ten years of title sponsorship support from the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation.
Gifts from the Foundation in 2018-2019 provided over $350-thousand dollars in funding for the completion of library renovations. Over the next year the focus will be on expanding the library’s programs and accessibility out in the community.
During the April 30th event the Foundation will be announcing the 2018 Volunteer of the Year, and will unveil oil portraits of Howard Rutan, Gill M. Garman, and Julius W. Hegeler II. And a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for the Gill M. Garman Large Study Room. The study room was made possible by a donation from Justice Rita Garman.
