A proposed $6.8 million dollar contract for a major sanitary service reconstruction project on Danville’s northwest side was pulled off a city council committee agenda last night. Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr., said he needs more time to review it.
The pump station project includes work in the Old Ottawa and Denmark Road, and Chateau Estates area. Included along with the sewer pump station work are plans for a new pipe and pedestrian bridge across the Dallas Bowman Bridge over Lake Vermilion. A new pedestrian walkway is planned along Denmark Road that would be separated from the road by new guardrail. The project also includes reducing the curve along Old Ottawa Road and placing new LED lighting along the causeway on Denmark Road.
Danville Community Development Director David Schnell told the committee that timing is an issue on the project. But no action is expected on the contract now until at least the May 7th Danville City Council meeting.
