Danville Police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in September of 2017. Police Commander Joshua Webb says 38-year-old Nicholas D. Trimble of Urbana was taken into custody Monday afternoon (April 22, 2019) in Champaign. Trimble is facing charges of murder in connection with the September 4, 2017 shooting deaths of Rafael Arevalo and Omar Roman, both 26, of Danville.
The victims were found dead in a home in the 500 block of Harvey Street after police responded to a report of shots fired. The investigation has been continuing since that evening and during the course of the investigation Trimble was determined to be a suspect.
Trimble (shown here) was taken into custody Monday by Danville and Champaign Police along with members of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. The arrest was made in the area of 4th and Kirby Streets in Champaign. He was transported to the Public Safety Building in Danville where he is being held on First Degree Murder charges. Trimble’s bond has been set at $10-million dollars.
