Vermilion County Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Missy Quick says it has been nice to have worked with some Circuit Clerks. Now, she wants the job herself. Quick announced during the Vermilion County Republican Party Breakfast Monday that she is running for Circuit Clerk.
Quick has worked in the Circuit Clerk’s office for 28 years, and has been Chief Deputy Clerk for 18 of those years. ‘’This office is my life,’’ said Quick. She says she has been working hard with current Circuit Clerk Dennis Gardner to implement a new case management system. And, eventually, Quick’s goal is for the office to go paperless. Criminal and civil cases would all be handled through E-filing. Civil E-filing has already begun.
In addition to the new case management system Quick says the office has been preparing for new fines and fees which take effect on July 1st. She also said she very much appreciates the fact that current Circuit Clerk Dennis Gardner is supporting her bid for the office.
Quick is married and lives in Alvin. She is the first person to announce that they will run for the office. Gardner is in the middle of his third term.
