A new Director has been announced for the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. Shawn Bransky will assume his new role on May 26th after serving as the Deputy Director for the Phoenix VA Health Care System in Phoenix, Arizona. He has held that position since April of 2017.
Bransky will be overseeing VA Illiana Health Care System’s 302-bed hospital and a 223-bed Community Living Center, as well as four outpatient clinics in Springfield, Peoria, Decatur and Mattoon.
VA Illiana Health Care oversees healthcare to more than 150,000 Veterans living in 30 counties across Illinois and Indiana. Bransky will be responsible for an operating budget of nearly $186-million dollars and a workforce of 1,414 personnel.
Kelley Sermak has been serving as the Interim Director for the VA Illiana Health Care System.
Prior to his role in Phoenix, Bransky served as Associate Director at the Alaska VA Healthcare System in Anchorage, Alaska. He is the recipient of several military medals – including the Bronze Star which was awarded following Bransky’s deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
