Teams from six area schools competed Friday in the Vermilion County Conservation District’s Conservation Olympics. Lara Darling, Education Supervisor for the Conservation District, says part of the competition requires the students to answer questions…
In case you wondered, Darling says the largest wild bird in our area is either a wild turkey or a bald eagle.
The students participating are all sixth-graders.
Sean Click, a teacher from Bismarck-Henning Junior High School, was leading one of the teams….
Darling was excited to see Bismarck-Henning back. She outlined what she hopes the teams will get out of participating….
Other teams competing were from Oakwood, Mary Miller Junior High School in Georgetown, Judith Giacoma Elementary School in Westville, Schlarman Academy, and Salt Fork.
