Danville Police Crackdown Leads to Arrests

Police in Danville have been cracking down on traffic offenses, and in the process they have made several other arrests.  Since early Thursday Danville Police, with assistance from Vermilion County Sheriff’s Deputies and Illinois State Troopers, have arrested at least 8 people for driving while their license is suspended.  Two were charged with having no valid drivers license.  And one was arrested for driving while their license is revoked.

In addition, at least four people have been charged with possession of controlled substances.  And five people have been taken into custody because they were wanted on warrants.

The arrests for possession of controlled substances were made near the intersections of Bensyl Avenue and Avenue D…Virginia and Nevada Streets….Grace and Hubbard….and in the unit block of Lake Street.   Those arrested on traffic charges were stopped at various locations on East Main, Giddings, English, Fowler, Collett, Voorhees and Moore Streets.
