Murder charges have been lodged in Danville in connection with an April 24th shooting that killed a man. Twenty-six year old Percy Freeman of Phoenix, Illinois – in Cook County – is charged in the shooting death of 25-year-old Roosevelt Anderson Jr. Anderson died on April 25th at Carle Foundation Hospital as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.
Danville Police found Anderson lying in the 900 block of Redden Court on the afternoon of April 24th. Police were told Anderson was shot during an altercation involving several men.
Freeman has been charged with four counts of First-Degree Murder and one of Aggravated Battery along a Public Way. If convicted on the first-degree murder charges Freeman could face from 35 years to life in prison. Freeman has pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $5-million dollars.
