Vermilion County’s 2018 Real Estate Tax Bills have been mailed, according to County Treasurer Darren Duncan. He says county taxpayers will have 30 days – until June 14th, 2019 – to pay the first installment on the bill. The second installment will be due on September 6th, 2019.
Duncan notes they were able to mail the bills in early May even though there was a 40 day delay, because the county was awaiting its final property assessment factor from the Illinois Department of Revenue.
Duncan says his office was able to work with the Vermilion County Clerk and Supervisor of Assessments offices to get the bills out quickly. The County Treasurer is also reminding county residents to check their tax bill carefully to make sure the proper exemptions have been applied. The most common ones are the owner-occupied and senior citizen exemptions.
And taxpayers are reminded there are a number of ways they can pay their bill. One way is to go online under the Treasurer’s tab at the Vermilion County website at www.vercounty.org.
The tax bills can also be paid in person at the Vermilion County Administration Building at 201 North Vermilion Street in Danville. Payments can also be mailed to PO Box 730 Danville, Illinois, 61834….or pay by phone at 1-877-221-8591. You can also pay your tax bill at most Vermilion County banks.
