Construction season is here, and the Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting motorists about a bridge replacement project scheduled to begin Monday, May 20th, north of Danville.
IDOT says the project involves patching and bridge deck repairs to the bridge located on Illinois route one over the North Fork River. The bridge is located south of Rossville.
Two-way traffic will be maintained by flagmen between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and is expected to be complete by mid-September. Motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area IDOT suggests alternative routes be considered. In addition, motorists traveling through the work zone are being reminded to use extra caution, refrain from using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.
The work is dependent upon weather conditions.
