Two people were hurt early Sunday (May 19, 2019) in a serious single-vehicle crash in Danville. Danville Police reports say a 2000 model car was traveling eastbound on Main near Tennessee Street when the vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole. The crash occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they discovered the vehicle was upside down, and a rear passenger had been ejected. The injured passenger was found about 200 feet from the vehicle.
Police reports identify the driver as Erwin E. Watson and the passenger as Kareen Summers. No other information is available on them because police no longer release addresses or ages of those involved in accidents. The information is withheld because of an earlier Illinois Attorney General opinion stating the information should not be released.
The car hit the pole on the driver’s side and there was heavy damage to the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment.
