The heat wave this weekend has led to the cancellation of an 18th Century Living History Event at Forest Glen Preserve. Living history buffs had planned demonstrations on the way of life in the 1700’s on Saturday and Sunday but the event has been cancelled.
The Vermilion County Conservation District says with heat indices expected to be dangerously high, the safety of both the reenactors and visitors is the District’s utmost concern.
The event had been scheduled to take place at the Pioneer Homestead at Forest Glen, which is located east of Westville.
