Danville Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a Friday evening (July 26, 2019) home invasion and robbery. Police say the 69-year-old male victim told them that several men and women entered his home in the area of the 400 block of Avenue E without permission and started beating him while demanding items.
The man was robbed of his phone and wallet before the suspects fled. Police Commander Joshua Webb says the victim was treated on the scene for a laceration to his face received during the attack.
Police later that evening arrested two suspects in the area of the 1200 block of Clarence Street. Those taken into custody are identified as 24-year-old Larry A. Woodard and 24-year-old Tyler R. Jones, both of Danville. They were being held on preliminary charges of home invasion, robbery of a person and aggravated battery of an elderly person.
