Danville Man Serious Following Shooting

Danville Police say a 19-year-old city man was hospitalized in serious condition after being shot Thursday night (Aug. 1, 2019).   Police say they received a report of shots fired in the area of East Main and State Street around 9:00 p.m. As officers were on the scene they learned the 19-year-old had arrived at OSF Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his torso.

The victim told police he was walking in the area of Main and State Streets when shots rang out and he was struck.  He said he did not see who fired the shots.

Although the victim was hospitalized in serious condition he is expected to recover.
