It may still be August but the new school year is getting into full swing in our area today (Monday, August 19, 2019). Motorists are being reminded by police to be on the lookout for children walking to and from school, and make sure you obey the laws regarding school buses.
Most of the Vermilion County School Districts are observing their first day of the new school year. And It is also the first day for fall term classes at Danville Area Community College.
For the first time, DACC is offering some night classes at Georgetown – Ridge Farm High School. They include both college level and GED classes. There are also additional opportunities for high school students to be involved in dual-enrollment courses with Danville Area Community College.
DACC President Stephen Nacco noted earlier that although the new classes are at Georgetown – Ridge Farm High School, you do not have to be a resident of that district to attend the classes.
