The fall harvest season is just around the corner, and the Vermilion County Farm Bureau has scheduled a meeting to provide farmers some timely information. The Fall Ag Outlook Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th, will provide information on commodity prices and elevator facility plans for this fall, according to Tom Fricke. He is the Director of Information for Vermilion County Farm Bureau.
With the latest USDA crop report issued the previous Friday, Curt Kimmel of Bates Commodities will provide a commodity market outlook. Fricke says Kimmel will give his analysis of the crop report production and stocks numbers and look at what price trends could be through harvest and beyond.
In addition, two local elevator managers will also be participating to give farmers the fall outlook for their facilities. Charlie Smith, with ADM in Hoopeston, and Rich Thomas, with Premier Cooperative, will discuss plans for their locations during the harvest season.
The program is open to all Farm Bureau members. Paul Coolley, who has several years of grain marketing experience, will be the moderator.
