Danville Fire Sends 2 To The Hospital

A fire on Danville’s southeast side sent two people to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment tonight (Tuesday, September 10, 2019).   Fire Battalion Chief Todd Spicer described what firefighters found when they arrived at 8 Green Acres (just off Perrysville Road)….

{‘’We arrived on the scene to a fully-involved trailer fire.  We pulled our hand lines and knocked down on the front of the fire.  We opened up the back end to try to make sure there was nobody else on the inside,’’ said Spicer. ‘’Once we had confirmation that all occupants were accounted for we opened up the deck guns on top and quickly extinguished the fire.’’}

One person was apparently in the home when the fire broke out….

{‘’We had an occupant that was inside, but he was extricated by local residents nearby.  He was transported out of here by the medical services.  And currently, he was injured but his condition is unknown,’’ Chief Spicer told VermilionCountyFirst.com News on the scene.}

And Spicer added another person was also transported from the scene…

{‘’We had a resident which I believe is his daughter who also arrived on the scene and helped pull him out of there.  Her injuries are unknown at this point but she was walking around here and talking to us, but we had her transported to the hospital for safety measures to get checked out,’’ said Spicer.}

The names of the people who were transported to the hospital were not immediately available so information on their condition was unavailable.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting in the investigation into what caused the blaze.
