The Danville Symphony Orchestra Choir, under the direction of Martha Lindvahl will be assembling to perform in two concerts during the 2019-2020 season.
The DSO Choir will perform Christmas music with the Symphony on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 7:30 including: “Mary Did You Know”, “Some Children See Him”, “God Bless Us Everyone”, and “Carols of the Night”. It will combine with Danville High School’s Delegation to perform “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, “Holiday Favorites” and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from The Messiah.
Rehearsals will take place in the DHS Choral room from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, October 3,10, 17,24, November 7,14,21, and December 5, with dress rehearsals with the orchestra on December 6 at 7 p.m. and December 7 at 2:00 p.m.
On Saturday, April 25, 2020, the Choir will perform film music with the Symphony from “Lion King”, “Beetle Juice”, “Gone With the Wind” and “Price of Egypt”. Rehearsal dates for this concert will be set at later date.
Choral experience is recommended in order to participate in the chorus and individuals may be asked to do a vocal range placement check.
