October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and a domestic violence shelter in Danville is looking for some help. Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy is partnering with Witzel Enterprises seeking donations of supplies for the Crosspoint at the Y Domestic Violence and Transitional Shelter.
During October, Don and Deanna Witzel, owner-operators of the local McDonalds, are using the restaurants to collect donations of cleaning products, towels and wash clothes, diapers, personal care products, children’s craft supplies, and non-perishable food supplies to help stock the Crosspoint Domestic Violence and Transitional Shelter. Donations can be dropped off at all Vermilion County McDonald’s locations. Grocery gift cards of $25 or less will also be accepted.
‘’I would like to thank Don and Deanna Witzel, as well as Crosspoints Executive Director Chad Hays, for participating in the supply drive as we support survivors – and spread the message that violence has no place in healthy relationships,’’ said State’s Attorney Lacy.
