It was a busy weekend for police and other emergency personnel in the Danville area. Police were called to a report involving the aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery at 505 East Main Street at 2:00 a.m. Sunday. Initial reports indicate three women were wounded there, but police have released no information on the incident to our news department. The location is three blocks east of the downtown area.
Danville Police were also called to an aggravated battery and mob action incident in the 500 block of Chandler Street at 4:30 Sunday morning. Again, no other details were immediately released.
Other calls handled by Danville Police included a report involving the aggravated discharge of a firearm in the 700 block of Grant Street early Sunday – but no suspect or victim were found;
- An aggravated battery, burglary and mob action call at 932 Redden Court shortly before 2:00 a.m. Sunday;
- A criminal damage to property report at Walnut and North Streets around 6:30 p.m. Saturday;
- A burglary and theft report at 1506 East Main Street Saturday night:
- And several calls involving domestic disturbances over the weekend.
Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police are continuing their investigation into some burglaries that were reported Saturday evening. One involved a burglary at 5 South Henning Road. And the other was nearby at 212 Olive Street.
