Open House Aims to Attract Future Teachers

Eastern Illinois University and Danville Area Community College are giving those interested in becoming a teacher a chance to learn more about it Tuesday (October 8, 2019).  They are hosting an Open House from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in rooms 141/142 of the Bremer Conference Center at Danville Area Community College.

Those interested will have a chance to meet with advisors and learn about financial aid available for becoming part of a Danville Area Cohort.  All coursework will be taught at DACC starting in January.  There is no basic skills test required, and those interested in joining the cohort will be able to apply on site.  Those attending should take their transcripts with them.

The Danville Area Cohort to try to attract more people into becoming teachers is being sponsored by the Rural School Initiative at Eastern Illinois University, Danville Area Community College, and the Regional Office of Education.
