All Lanes Re-Open Following Serious Route One Crash

Illinois State Police are continuing their investigation into a serious accident which occurred this morning (October 9, 2019) along route one, north of Georgetown.  Initial reports say as many as four vehicles were involved in the crash which occurred around 8 o’clock this morning on Illinois route one at Vermilion County Road 900 North.

Multiple injuries were reported, but no names have been released, so the condition of those involved is unavailable (as of midday, October 9th).

Workers from the Illinois Department of Transportation were assisting State Police in detouring traffic around that area, but all lanes re-opened this afternoon.

Some of the vehicles involved were along the northbound lanes.  Another left the highway and crashed in a field along the west side of route one.
