Danville Firefighters say no one was hurt last night (Monday, November 4th) in a fire which heavily damaged a local home. Firefighters discovered the rear of the two-story home at 114 Kentucky Street in flames when they arrived shortly after 8:30 p.m. While battling that fire, a second call sounded for an apartment building at 3535 North Vermilion Street.
The apartment building call involved burnt food on a kitchen stove. The occupant had fallen asleep while cooking food. Nobody was hurt but there was extensive smoke in the apartment.
The cause of the fire on Kentucky Street remains under investigation. No one was home when the fire broke out.
